Metro’s Family Camp-out
Campout At Ft. Wilderness 2014
Message from: Valerie Morton
Metro’s 14th Annual Ft Wilderness Campout is almost here! Hopefully your family is excited & ready to have fun! To help you plan your weekend, I’ve attached schedules for our group meals & activities as well as for Ft. Wilderness sponsored activities.
When checking in @ Ft Wilderness, tell them you are with the Metro Church Group and they will give you your site # (if the site is not in loops -1500, 1600 or 1800- please call me right away at 407-353-7042). Also, please remember that only one car may be parked at your site (additional cars may be parked in the main parking lot).
If you are sharing your site with another family, please forward this email to them since their email address would not have been on the registration.
Everyone make sure to stop by the “Hospitality Site” hosted by Mike & Mary Callahan (*tentatively site #1629). You are welcome to come enjoy a morning cup of coffee, pick up sidewalk chalk to write your family name on your campsite, and see the list with site numbers of the other Metro families.
Our Pot Luck Chili Dinner is planned for 6:30 pm on Friday at the Hospitality Site. Please bring chili and “fixings” and your own drinks.
*There will be a Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday at 8 am at the Hospitality Site (eggs, bacon, pancakes etc. – suggested donation of $2-$5). Jim Marshall (Metro member) is coordinating this fund raiser to benefit his friend who has leukemia and has spent all of her savings to pay for medical bills, leaving her with no money to pay for her wedding venue. They are hoping she will be well enough to have the wedding.
The Callahan’s are once again hosting their Famous Fish Fry on Saturday at 6:00 pm at the Hospitality Site. Everyone is welcome! They will be providing fish & hushpuppies. Please bring a side dish; drinks will be provided (donations are welcome).
–For those who are new to the camp-out, please see the attached “Ft. Wilderness Info” for some basic details regarding the camp-out.
